Who we are
K-Electric (KE) has been powering Karachi for over 100 years. Covering an area of 6,500 square kilometers, we serve power to more than 3.7 million customers across residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural sectors in Karachi, Dhabeji, Gharo (Sindh), and Uthal, Vinder, and Bela (Balochistan).
KE is Pakistan’s only vertically integrated power utility, managing the entire energy value chain — Generation, Transmission, and Distribution — to ensure efficient and reliable power supply.
Since privatisation in 2005, K-Electric’s over $4.6 billion investment has enabled the Utility to double its customer base and infrastructure, while halving Transmission and Distribution losses. With the approval of the Investment Plan 2030 by NEPRA, KE plans to invest USD 2 billion in Transmission and Distribution infrastructure till 2030, catering the growing power demand, further reducing losses and bringing technological advancements while enhancing customer access to affordable and reliable power.
